Okay, so I tried starting an online business once… and wow, it was a rollercoaster. At first, I had zero idea what I was doing. I kept thinking, “Am I actually cut out for this?” Spoiler: I definitely wasn’t… at first!

Figuring Out What I Actually Enjoy

My first mistake? I tried copying someone else. Big fail. Then I paused and asked myself, “What do I even enjoy?” For me, it was helping people learn stuff. That’s when I decided to make small digital guides.

Seriously, don’t try something you hate. You’ll just burn out fast.

Who Will Care About This Anyway?

Next, I asked myself, “Who am I helping here?” I pictured a real person—what frustrates them, what do they scroll through online, what makes them click things. That tiny exercise made me rethink my content completely.

My First Website Was… a Mess

Not gonna lie, my first site looked like a middle school project. But guess what? People didn’t care. They just wanted clear info and an easy way to buy.

Lesson learned: perfection is overrated. Clean and simple wins.

Making Something That Actually Helps

I started with super small guides solving one problem at a time. And people actually liked them!

Tip: Your first product doesn’t need to be perfect. It just has to help someone in a real way.

Selling Without Freaking Out

I used PayPal. Easy peasy. For digital stuff, Gumroad or Teachable are lifesavers. The simpler it is for people, the better they feel about buying.

Talking About Your Business

Marketing freaked me out, I won’t lie. But I just started sharing small tips on Instagram and writing mini blog posts. I focused on helping, not begging anyone to buy. Surprisingly, people bought anyway!

Learning While Screwing Up

Not everything worked. Some guides flopped hard. Some did really well. I learned by watching, tweaking, and trying again.

What I Want You to Know

Starting an online business is messy, confusing, and full of surprises. You WILL make mistakes. That’s normal! Focus on helping people, take it slow, and enjoy the ride.
